We, of course, as a city, want our cultural institutions to make a name, internationally, while also keeping locally rooted capillaries open to us and to our contributions. MCB is doing an excellent job of just that. Organizers seek to make Barcelona the “World capital of piano.” Aside from the contest itself which is really reserved for participants with serious piano talent, organizers will convert our metropolis into aforementioned capital of piano by putting pianos bloody everywhere! 16 cultural venues around town participate, including the Filmoteca and the MACBA among others, and are waiting for your fingers between 10am and 8pm everyday. Same goes for 9 pianos lining Pg. de Gràcia on March 9th. And, check out 27 performances by young pianists at nine hotels. Finally, a use for those pesky fuckers!
